fend-mazing!
The new Fendi ads are moody, captivating, dramatic...with a cool vampire vibe. Great corset dresses. Oh, and Jessica Stam is amazing!

halloween dinner party
If you are looking for Halloween decor that is more stylish than spooky, look no further!
love 2
I'm looking forward to the new release on October 6th from the Parisian band Air. If you are not familiar with them, they had a cool chill and moody sound, and have collaborated several times on soundtracks with movie director (and walrus icon) Sofia Coppola. Although we hear her new movie, set to release in 2010, will feature songs by another French band, Phoenix. (The front man also happens to be her baby daddy.) Either way, we love these 2 bands.Sofia Coppola & Thomas Mars

the day before
And speaking of Karl, check out this exclusive previously unpublished photo of the legend at a private airport in Germany. You'll notice he is standing in front of the restroom, yet somehow he still looks classy. You'll only see this here at walrus studio!

whimsy, lit
If you have a chance to visit downtown Chicago, check out the lobby, or living room as they call it, at the W Hotel. The chic-modern furnishings pair well with the Beaux-Arts historic building. Most impressive are the two towering lamps that nearly reach the second story balcony. To get a similar style lamp for yourself, but at a fraction of the size, check out Jonathan Adler for fantastic lamps with just the right amount of whimsy (the white one is to die for). If these are out of your budget, try a similar look from Z Gallerie. For this one I'd recommend getting a different lampshade, or for you crafty types, try trimming the top and bottom of the shade with black grosgrain ribbon.

vintage graphic linens
I love the look of the vintage crest bedding now available at Restoration Hardware. It's the actual crest motif of Charles Watson-Wentworth, the second Marquis of Rockingham from the 18th-century. Don't you wish we all still had family crests? The early form of a self-logo. They also have a collection of couch pillows loomed from Belgian flax.
Still, if you are looking for something a little less corporate, these vintage French chairs from Jayson Home and Garden are amazing- they are reupholstered with antique Belgian grain sacks.
welcome to walrus studio!
