my absolute favorite lighting comes from a company called shine home. my house would be filled with their lamps, if only i could afford them. for now, drooling over these pictures will have to do. do you have any favorite lighting companies?

I hadn't stopped by Anthropologie's wallpaper section in awhile. They have so many great prints to choose from now. Here are my favorities: Blooming Filigree, Woods and Coral Forest.

oscar fashion

i love that a lot actresses took a risk this year- for some it payed off, for others it didn't. my favorite this year was sarah jessica parker in a gorgeous chanel in the most lovely soft yellow and silver. i would love to get close up to see the amazing detailing. my second choice is miley cyrus for looking super elegant and beautiful and not looking like a teenager trying to wear adult clothing, and third is nicole richie for rockin' a cool 70's vibe. and last but not least, rachel mcadams. who were your favorites?

I just love these looks from former william rast creative consultant marcella lindeberg. i could live in those grey leggings and boots. the three looks below are what i would wear 1) on the weekend 2) to work and 3) in the evening if i lived in her world. the line is called paris68.

I love the carpets, pillows and blankets by Madeline Weinrib. She is part of the ABC Carpet & Home family, and her atelier is located on the 6th floor. I'll be sure to visit there on my trip to NYC next week.There are so many to choose from!

dear diary

It's not to late to start a diary. My picks are the 5 year diaries where you can record each date's events on a single page for five years,
making it easy to look back and see what you were doing that day in years past. Also I like the Keel's Simple Diary because it asks
insightful questions and makes you see your day in an interesting light.

One Line a Day is pretty and has a glossy gold tipped pages.

Keel's Simple Diary is available in six colors, but I like yellow best.

The 5 Year Diary has a great blue striped fabric cover.

Two girls in LA started this hair accessory line, ban.do, in 2008. I love all their whimsical pieces, especially from their bridal line (featured below) because it is so girly and vintage. But what really caught my eye was the photography. I love the traditional portrait look but the delicate and light feeling and how the girls look so bored!

Here's an example of how great design decision can make a place legendary. The famous Gino restaurant in NYC is closing after 65 years, but it's famous zebra wallpaper will live on. Designed by Flora Scalamandré, the restaurant actually owns the silk screen patterns.
